The first edition, named 'Unique Character', in a planned 15 part series honoring the former owner Ian Hunter who took over the distillery in 1908. It is widely accepted that he established many of the practices still used today at Laphroaig and also launched the whisky as a single malt in its own right. This impressive 30 year old release has been matured in first-fill ex Bourbon barrels and is packaged inside a hardback book with pages detailing Ian's introduction of American oak casks into the distillery's maturation regime. A limited edition of only 4800 bottles.
