Nikka Session Blended Malt Whisky 700mL

Nikka Session is the first new brand from Nikka in six years is a world whisky blend of malts from Yoichi, Miyagikyo, and Ben Nevis. Nikka Whisky bought Scotland's Ben Nevis Distillery in 1989, though they had been importing whisky from its parent company, James Burrough, for "some years" prior to that. These days it's pretty open secret that Ben Nevis is a component of many Nikka whiskies.

Nose: Apples, pineapples, pears and blackcurrant, leafy mint.

Palate: Those fruits have dried up! We also get peppercorn and a healthy serving of woody malt, of course.

Finish: That malt wave brings plenty of dark chocolate malt and bitterness with it. Slightly peaty to finish things off.

ABV: 43%
