Westland Sherry Wood is made by filling hogsheads and butts from the same area where the Scottish find their casks, But with them, what Westland does varies. The five-malt spirit plays an important role, enabling them to combine their local malted barley flavor with the sherry effect. They have all our sherry casks delivered whole, which is rare in the whiskey industry. This gives a sherry character in this whiskey that is still extremely vivid but the barley notes have an equal expression, something that is seldom done in Scotland.
Nose: Honey-dipped oatmeal raisin cookies, maple syrup, banana pancakes.
Palate: Kiwi, maple syrup, raisins, sweet cookies, pastries, stewed yellow fruits.
ABV: 46%
