Many peated whiskeys follow the very conventional 100 percent peated malt model to show a raw and heavy smoke character, Westland Peated Whiskey is different in this regard. In a ratio that actually outweighs the peated malt, non-peated malts are introduced, most of which are cultivated locally in Washington State. In each bottling, the addition of their revolutionary five-malt spirit adds a balance of malty notes to the peat that represents the local creative culture. This whiskey has won many awards including a double gold/96 points at theNY International Spirits Competition in 2018.
Nose: Nuts, smoldering moss, flamed orange peel, roasted plantains.
Palate: Campfire, iodine, roasted pistachios, green herbs.
ABV: 46%
